Portable Water Level Meter
The Powers Portable Water Level Meter is a Solid State electronic instrument that is designed to accurately determine the static level, the draw-down level, and the recovery rate levels in water wells.
The cable, with an electrode attached to the end, is lowered into the well. When the electrode makes contact with the water level, a milliampere reading will register on the analog meter and an audible beeper will sound. The depth of the water can be read using the calibrations marked on the cable.
This unit has recently been upgraded with the following improvements:
1.) Enhanced cable strength
2.) Crankshaft bearings are mounted internally.
3.) Heavy gauge steel instrument cover.
4.) New gray Hammer tone powder coat paint.
The tip of the electrode is housed in our special "Splash Guard" plastic shield which prevents any false readings from cascading or falling water from within the well itself. The electrode measures 3/8" diameter x 24" long and weights 8 oz. The standard electrode comes with brass beads that are ½" long for flexibility. Stainless steel electrodes are also available.
The cable is a special manufactured 2 conductor, PVC, 20 AWG size cable that has a very low stretch characteristic with a high breaking strength that has been increased to 350 lbs. The cable is now RoHS Compliant as of July 1, 2006 and the temperature rating has been increased to 105 degrees Centigrade (221 degrees Fahrenheit). The cable is calibrated in 1 foot increments with a sequential number marked every 2 feet and is also available with 500-mm increments with a sequential number marked every meter. The cable marks are applied with a special hot foil stamp process that embeds the marks into the PVC cable insulation which produce an indelible and highly visible marking system.
The cable accuracy is within 0.005% and can be supplied in any lengths up to 2,000 feet.
All Powers Portable Water Level Meter are completely housed in a ruggedly constructed heavy gauge sheet metal case and are equipped with an on-off toggle power switch, milliampere meter, audible beeper, circuit test button, and 9 volt battery as standard equipment. An LED red flashing light, external power supply jack, sensitivity control, and total depth probe are also available upon request.
These instruments are supplied as a portable, battery operated, self-contained unit.
The electronic design requires only one 9 volt battery, which provides long battery life and economy.
All units are ready for use right out of the shipping box.
